Springfield Local Schools say high schoolers will be on their own for transportation in the fall. Toledo News Now reports the district will cut bussing for students in grade 9 through 12 this coming school year. The district says the cut was made because the levy that was on the August 5th ballot failed.
The district says PENTA students will still receive transportation, but the cut does include area non-public school students as well.
Springfield will also close its elementary buildings one hour after the end of the school day. The buildings will no longer be available for after-school activities and meetings and other activities.
Another levy has already been announced for the November ballot.
